Instructor(s) (Non-Regular) - Practical Nursing Program (Terrace)

Job description and duties

Coast Mountain College (CMTN), Terrace campus, invites applications for a non-regular term Instructor(s) in the Practical Nursing program as outlined below. The appointment will commence as soon as possible and end January 8, 2021. Some evening/weekend and travel will be required. Salary will be in accordance with the BCGEU Instructor Scale.

Duties:  This position will be responsible for contributing to the academic success of students by supervising and teaching a group of students in a clinical setting. This will include guiding and mentoring students through their clinical placements, modelling professional skills and work-related behaviour along with other functions related to instructing the following course: 

  • PNUR 247: Integrated Nursing Practice 4 (90 Lab instructional hours)

  • PNUR 277: Consolidated Practice Experience 4 (200 clinical hours)


  • Current BC registration as a LPN, RN, or RPN

  • 3 – 5 years of recent and relevant practice experience including clinical experience

  • Additional post-secondary education in teaching (i.e. A Master’s in Adult Education, a Provincial Teaching Certificate, a Provincial Instructor’s Diploma) is an asset

  • Willingness to embrace the characteristics of our strategic plan (adventurous, transformative, and integrity) and apply them to teaching

The successful applicant will possess a broad range of content knowledge, confidence and experience in the subject areas. As a team player and learner-centered instructor, experience should demonstrate excellent group facilitation, communication and interpersonal skills. A commitment to student success is required, along with a demonstrated ability to foster a motivational learning environment for a diverse student base.
