BSc Geography, NOCN Award Outdoor Education
Hailing from Worcestershire, England (yes, it’s the home of the sauce), Andy has been at Coast Mountain College as both student first and then employee since 2018.
Andy has a BSc in Physical Geography from the University of Nottingham which focused on Glacial Geomorphology and Climate Change, following which he spent several years instructing Science Field Studies and Outdoor Education on a small island off the south coast of England.
Following his move to BC, Andy worked in Organic Agriculture running a small market garden in the Southern Gulf Islands for several years before moving north to Prince Rupert.
Andy is passionate about growing good food and food security (and eating it), and where education is concerned, getting outside the classroom and experiencing everything the local environment has to offer. At Coast Mountain College you will find him taking care of the Science Labs and helping faculty facilitate Field Work as part of the Applied Coastal Ecology program.
In his spare time Andy likes to ski, kayak, garden, carve spoons and make furniture, play Old Time music on banjo and fiddle, or get nerdy about mosses and lichens.
