Mineral Processing Operator
This 11-week plus entry-level training program prepares students to be employed at operating mines that mill ore.

Students will learn how to use equipment to separate valuable minerals and metals from rocks. Training is focused on the knowledge and skills required to work safely and become a Mineral Processing Operator.
 

A specific course outline will be provided by the instructor at the beginning of the course.
Course topics include:

  • Pre-Employment Training for Mine Jobs (5 weeks)
  • Mine Mill Workplace Safety and Certifications (2 weeks)
  • Ore Processing  (5 weeks)

The training follows industry-defined National Occupational Standards and can lead to nation-wide recognized certification under the Canadian Mining Credentials Certification Program. Training components include safety certifications, mine safety, processing of ore, METSO software- computer-based training on mill processing equipment.

  • Must have Grade 12, GED, or equivalent (does not include Evergreen Certificate)
