Frequently asked questions

HOW CAN I SAVE MONEY ON TEXTBOOKS?

Unfortunately textbooks don’t usually go on sale but there are a few different ways to save money. The Library in our Terrace campus houses a consignment section where you can purchase used books or sell your old books. Additionally, Coast Mountain College hosts book buy backs [LINK to Buybacks] three times a year (August, December, and April) where we work with book vendors to buy back your used books.

Another way to save money is to purchase used textbooks from the Bookstore. We try to purchase both new and used books to give students the best selection possible.

WHY ARE BOOK PRICES SUBJECT TO CHANGE?

The bookstores are not able to confirm prices until the books arrive in our stores. As books arrive we confirm prices and ISBN numbers and we update our booklists. We work to keep our online booklists as up to date as we can however there may be discrepancies between our online booklist and what we have in the store.

WHY IS MY COURSE NOT LISTED?

The courses listed are the courses that we have ordered books for. As instructors and coordinators confirm the books they intend to use in their classes, our booklists will be updated to reflect those changes.
