Description

In honour of Herman Onstein, this bursary recognizes a student in a Welding or Automotive Service Technician program who exemplifies the work ethic and charity of the Onstein family. Herman was an immigrant to Canada, and through his years of hard work and good fortune, he built up a successful business enterprise and embraced the spirit of community philanthropy.  He was a man who cherished family and made all those around him better through his generosity and warmth.  He is fondly remembered by all and the family continues his tradition of charity through this annual award. 

Criteria

To be eligible a student must:

  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or refugee, and BC resident;
  • Be enrolled in a Welding or Automotive Service Technician program at CMTN;
  • Demonstrate financial need.
