Call for nominations: Student seats

  • 2 student representative seats for Board of Governors

Term of office:  1 year term from October 2020 to September 2021

All nominees are required to submit a typed candidate statement, no longer than 250 words in length, along with their completed nomination form. Nomination forms must be received by info@coastmountaincollege.ca by 4:00 pm on September 28, 2020.

Oct 7-9, 2020

Polling stations will be set up in the Registration office at the Terrace Campus, in the library at the Prince Rupert campus, and the registration desks at all other campuses. 

*If at the close of the nomination period there is only one candidate per seat available, the nominated candidate will be declared elected.

Eligibility to participate

Only those enrolled as a student (in good standing) currently attending the College are eligible to participate.  If you are uncertain of your enrolment status, please check with your Registration Office.  The Procedures for Election require that the two students elected to the Board must be from different programs. Therefore, the student receiving the highest number of votes will be elected to one position. The student receiving the highest number of votes, who is in a different program from the first highest, will be declared elected to the position.

Each nominee must declare that s/he has every reason to believe that s/he will be able to fulfill the term of office and must be nominated by five other recognized members of the student body. Student members receive $750 every 3 months for the term served on the Board.
