Board of Governors Student Nominees 

The ‘Board’ oversees the operation of the College through the guidance of the College and Institutes Act of British Columbia. College operations include “manage, administer and control the property, revenue, expenditures, business and affairs of the institution”. There are two (2) student positions on the Board of Governors.


Alishia Grace Benson-McCarthy

Representing: Terrace Campus

Program: Business Administration Diploma - Human Resources

Good Day!  My name is Alishia Benson-McCarthy (Grace).  I’m a second-year student in the Business Administration (Human Resource Concentration) Diploma program at the Terrace CMTN campus.  This year I’m running for a re-election as a student reprehensive for the CMTN Board of Governors. I’ve enjoyed my experience and thank you all for helping me to be successful to securing a seat last year.  I’m confident that if select once again, I can continue to provide a solid voice for the best interest of all students, across all campuses.  Thank you for your time and consideration, have a great year.


Borshon Francis Rozario

I’m Borshon Francis Rozario, currently pursuing my Post Degree Diploma in Business Administration at Coast Mountain College, Smithers campus. As a first-year student, I am passionate about accounting and finance, with the goal of becoming a CPA. In addition to my studies, I founded the CMTN Business and Entrepreneurship Club, where I collaborate with fellow students to explore new business ideas and foster entrepreneurial thinking. I am always actively engaged in co-curricular activities, balancing academics with my passion for leadership and community involvement.

Maria Joanna de la Rosa

Maria Joanna de la Rosa goes by the nickname “MJ,” holds a degree in Business Administration with a major in Financial and Management Accounting from the Philippines. She is currently a second-year international student at Coast Mountain College, Terrace Campus, pursuing a Post Degree Diploma in Business. Additionally, she serves as the Education Council Student Representative for the Terrace Campus.

Professionally, MJ is an experienced Lead Finance Analyst - Project Controller at a multinational company, where she collaborates effectively with stakeholders from various backgrounds.


Vikas Kumar Rathi

Representing:  Terrace Campus

Program: Post-Degree Diploma Business

I am Vikas Kumar Rathi. I’m in Business administration Program and My Campus Location is Terrace, BC, Canada. I study BBA (Bachelor in Business Administration) this course helps me to learn a lot from that course like how manage you work also learn how to make strategy to work as a team. I’m also good at management.

Close of Nominations September 26, 2024, 4pm PST Qualified nominees will be notified by the Registrar following the close of nominations and prior to the Campaign period. If at the close of the nomination period there is only one candidate per seat available, the nominated candidate will be declared elected.

Campaign period

October 7, 2024 - October 11, 2024

Election day

October 15, 2024, 9am to 4pm PST

Polling will be held electronically through Election Buddy.

The first Board of Governors meeting following the election will be October 25, 2024.
