Originally from Edmonton, Alberta, Dave McKeever began his professional career as a Welder/Fabricator and Hydraulics Technician. Dave went on to begin his business career in the Liquefied Petroleum Gas industry [LPG], where he spent several years managing branch locations across British Columbia.
Through his experience in business management and the Liquefied Petroleum Gas industry, Dave has received many industry trade certifications and has been recognized for his work through industry management awards. Dave used his business experience to found McKeever Management Consulting Ltd. in 1998 where he provides consulting advice around procedure analysis, position profiles, training for managers and individual coaching.
Dave achieved his Master of Education in 2002 from Simon Fraser University, and has spent 20 years working with Coast Mountain College in different capacities. With Coast Mountain College, Dave has spent time as an Educational Advisor, Learning Assistance Specialist, Chair of Student Services and other positions. Currently, Dave is the Business Administration Program Coordinator for the Prince Rupert Campus.
"While my Masters Degree is in Educational Philosophy (Curriculum & Design), ethics plays a big role in educational design and this extends very easily to the business world. Education is BIG business and that is an ethical issue in of itself!"
When Dave isn’t working, he spends time at home in Prince Rupert with his family. Did you also know that Dave enjoys photography, playing classical guitar and camping throughout Northwest BC?
Dave also commits much of his time to the community through his work with committees and organizations. Dave is the Chair of the Coast Mountain College Education Council, is an active member on the Coast Mountain College Board of Governors and sits on the Prince Rupert & District Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors as Past President (President in 2018).
Toastmasters International is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing its members with the resources for improving their leadership and public speaking by attending clubs around the World. Dave was President of a local club from 1992-1998 and has been active with the organization for over 25 years. Dave explains, “networking is a primary skill for entrepreneurs and Toastmasters International is probably the best ongoing activity an entrepreneur can engage in to acquire and fine-tune networking abilities. Seeing the change in people over time is probably the most rewarding thing about attending Toastmasters meetings.”
I have had many, many interests over the years, but my main interest is now in photography, particularly 'fine-art' photography. Check out my Flickr page:
