In April, CMTN's Manager of Student Recruitment, Hyeyoung Kang, participated at the World Congress 2023 hosted by Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan) and the World Federation of Colleges and Polytechnics (WFCP) in Montreal, Quebec, with this year's theme being Collective Intelligence.
Kang’s presentation, titled “Building Partnerships for Diversifying the International Student Body and Improving Employability” discussed future-proofing the unique opportunities in rural, remote, and Northern institutions. This presentation was supported by panel discussions on topics such as accessibility, global engagement, sustainable development, immigration, and much more.
Kang also explored the importance of diversity in the international student population and how academic institutions can work with global student service providers to achieve this goal.
“It was my great pleasure to share the benefits of practicing empathy in international recruitment, in particular for student diversity,” says Kang. “[We want to] provide prospective students with real solutions to real challenges of coming to a rural, remote, and Northern institution.”
