CMTN Students Involved in Tragic Accident on October 4, 2026
Terrace, BC – This past weekend, four Coast Mountain College students were involved in a tragic motor vehicle accident; two students passed away and two were injured.
We would like to extend our deepest condolences to the friends and families of the students who lost their lives.
Classes were cancelled for the affected programs on Monday and Tuesday, October 5 and 6, and grief counsellors have been made available for CMTN students this week.
“This tragic accident has affected many at the college and in our communities. We have connected with the students’ families and have arranged for grief counselling and support for the CMTN community. My heart goes out to all of those impacted by this terrible event,” says Dr. Laurie Waye, CMTN President and CEO.
As we are still working through our crisis response and focusing on supporting our students, we will not be providing additional media comments or interviews before October 15, 2026.
