COVID-19 emergency relief

Coast Mountain College and CMTN Foundation will boost funding to student emergency bursaries during a high time of need due to COVID-19 by making an additional $40,000 available.

Funds are released through distribution of gift cards valued at $250 each for grocery stores located in Terrace, Prince Rupert or Smithers. These are available to students who apply and who can demonstrate a financial need.


Local or international students are eligible if they meet the following requirements: 

  • Enrolled part or full-time in an academic or vocational program at least 12 weeks long, or in an apprenticeship program.

  • Are currently experiencing emergency financial need as result of COVID-19. These include:

    •  Job loss or decreased work hours.
    • Unable to work due to caregiving for dependants/family members, are under travel isolation or are otherwise impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak.

Supporting documentation will be required.
