COVID-19 Update

As of September 2020, the Fitness Centre at the Terrace campus will be closed until further notice due to COVID-19 safety restrictions. CMTN leadership is carefully planning a gradual reopening of all college facilities. The status of the Fitness Centre will be reassessed in the coming months. Thanks for your patience and understanding as we work to keep our campus safe for everyone.


Terrace campus now offers a fresh, bright and new fitness facility for staff and students of Coast Mountain College.

Located in the Cedar building (off the atrium) with floor to ceiling windows and a world-class view of surrounding mountain vistas, the CMTN Fitness Centre is a great place to work out. Change rooms are equipped with showers and lockers and are located in the restrooms across from the entrance.

Students and staff may use this facility during operating hours free of charge. Use your ID card to access and be sure to review Fitness Centre rules and etiquette.

The Fitness Centre is currently closed due to COVID-19 safety restrictions. 

Membership and access 

Free to students and staff of Coast Mountain College.

Your CMTN student/staff ID card will access the centre during hours of operation. Contact Student Services with any issues.

Fitness classes

Focus on fitness this February! Students, check out the FREE classes this month in the beautiful  Fitness Centre Studio. Space is limited. First come, first served. 

Feb 3 - Pound Class with Terri Janas at 6:00 pm. Pound transforms drumming into a fun and effective workout. 
 
Feb 4 - Total Tabata Class with Terri Janas at 7:15 pm. Tabata is a type of high intensity interval training. 
 
Feb 5 - Circuit Class with Simone Crook at 4:30 pm. A fast-paced class where you perform a variety of exercises for 30 seconds to 5 minutes and then move on to another exercise, following a circuit. 
 
Feb 6 - Spin Class with Stacey Primosch at 6:00 pm. Spin class focuses on endurance, strength and high intensity using a 
stationary bike.

Fitness Centre rules & etiquette

  • Use this facility and equipment at your own risk. 
  • Users aged 15 - 17 must be accompanied by an adult 18+.
  • No food or drink, except for water.
  • No glass bottles. 
  • No horseplay, rude behaviour.
  • DO NOT take photos or film others without their permission.
  • No loud music, please use your headphones.
  • Please return equipment and wipe down after use.
  • Lockers are in nearby washrooms. CMTN is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Violation of Fitness Centre rules may result in access and privileges being revoked.
