  • Guaranteed Admission to University of Victoria for Students who Complete Their First Two Years at Coast Mountain College

    Coast Mountain College is pleased to announce an updated transfer agreement between CMTN and the University of Victoria (UVic), offering guaranteed admission and course transfer to UVic in select programs. Eligible and qualified students who complete their Associate Degree of Arts or Science at CMTN, can transfer directly into Humanities, Science, Social Science, or Art History and Visual Studies. Students who complete their first year of Engineering at CMTN can transfer directly into Engineering or Software Engineering at UVic.

  • Terrace Auto Group Donates $15,000 in Student Awards

    The Terrace Auto Dealers Association has renewed its support for students at Coast Mountain College with a donation of $15,000 to be distributed over three years. Funds are being matched by the New Car Dealers Foundation of BC and the CMTN Foundation, resulting in $45,000 in awards for students in the Automotive Foundations, Automotive Apprentices, and Business Administration programs.

  • Prince Rupert Port Authority Funds Multiple New Awards for Coast Mountain College Students

    Starting this fall, PRPA is partnering with CTMN Foundation to create the Prince Rupert Port Authority Academic Excellence Awards. These two annual $1,500 awards are open to Coast Mountain College students enrolled in any year of Environmental Sciences, Sustainability, Engineering, or Business. Additionally, PRPA funds the Supporting Trade Apprenticeships Award, which is open to students in any trade, in any year.

  • Back-to-School in Updated Spaces at Coast Mountain College, Terrace Campus

    Students at the Terrace campus of Coast Mountain College returned to classes this semester in the newly renovated Waap Sa’mn (House of Spruce). The renovations constituted the third and final phase of an upgrade project which began in 2019. Earlier phases of this project included the opening of a new student housing building and the renovation of the library.

  • Carpentry Apprenticeship Blended Model is a Successful Pilot Project for Coast Mountain College and Contact North BC

    Coast Mountain College (CMTN) recently partnered with Contact North BC to offer Carpentry Level 1 as a pilot program for delivering Trades training in a combined online and in-person format. Six students started their training online from their local Contact North BC learning centres, and then completed the hands-on portion during a two-week stay at the CMTN Terrace campus.

Two groups of students designed, programmed, and built an automated claw that would close around an object as it approached the floor and could transport the object over a makeshift wall.
