Coast Mountain College (CMTN), invites applications for a term Instructor in the Health Care Assistant program as outlined below. The appointment will commence October 13, 2025, and ends March 13, 2026, and Salary will be in accordance with the BCGEU Instructor Scale ranging from $36.46 to $47.15 per hour.

This position is well suited for an individual with a passion for caring for people in need of health care who is interested in sharing their skills and experience to influence the next generation of nurses and health care assistants.

Duties:  This position will be responsible for contributing to the academic success of students by teaching the following HCAP courses from the indicated campuses, in face-to-face and online settings.

• HCAS 1011: Health & Healing: Concepts for Practice
• HCAS 1021: Health Care Assistant: Intro to Practice
• HCAS 1031: Health 1: Interpersonal Communications
• HCAS 1041: Health2: Lifestyles and Choices
• HCAS 1051: Healing 1: Caring for Individual Experience
• HCAS 1061: Cognitive or Mental Health Challenges
• HCAS 1071: Healing 3: Personal Care & Assistance

Minimum qualifications require current registration as an LPN, RN, or RPN in British Columbia, along with a demonstrated experience in teaching adult learners. This could include completion of a Provincial Instructors Diploma, equivalent education, or prior teaching roles supported by satisfactory references, positive evaluations, or student feedback.

Applicants must have at least 2 years of full-time nursing experience, with strong understanding of the Canadian healthcare system, healthcare team dynamics, and current policies across residential, acute care, and community settings. Preferred experience includes working with older adults with complex health needs, as well as familiarity with home support, multi-level/complex care, and acute care environments.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate adaptability, flexibility, and proficiency with technology. Additionally, strong organizational, interpersonal, and collaborative skills are essential.
