Food Safe Level 1 Instructor (Terrace)

Job description and duties

Coast Mountain College (CMTN), Terrace campus, invites applications for an auxiliary instructional position for Food Safe Level 1 – CEFAID 729 course on an on-call basis (weekdays, evenings and weekends) up to 500 hours. The on-call period will commence May 1, 2026. Salary will be in accordance with the BCGEU Instructor Scale.

Duties:  The instructor will be responsible for teaching FoodSafe Level 1 courses and supporting all key aspects of classroom instruction. Duties include lesson planning and course preparation, delivering clear and engaging instruction, evaluating student work and assessments, monitoring learner progress, and providing guidance and feedback to help students meet course requirements. The role also includes maintaining accurate records, ensuring course content is delivered in accordance with program standards, and carrying out other instructional and administrative responsibilities related to the successful delivery of FoodSafe Level 1 training.

Qualifications

Qualifications/Skills:  Current certification as a FOODSAFE instructor in British Columbia is required. Preference will be given to candidates with a Provincial Instructor Diploma or equivalent instructional training, along with previous teaching experience and relevant food industry experience.
