Coast Mountain College (CMTN), Terrace campus, invites applications for a full-time continuing position to instruct in the Youth Exploratory Trades Sampler (YETS) and the Automotive Trades programs commencing October 12,2026. Salary will be in accordance with the BCGEU Instructor salary scale ($37.55 - $53.80 per hour).

Duties: The Instructor will teach in the Youth Exploratory Trades Sampler (YETS) program and Automotive Trades, and is responsible for ensuring student success. This includes course preparation, teaching and guiding students, providing feedback, correction, encouragement, and direction. In addition, the Instructor will oversee and ensure shop safety, complete the related administrative, record keeping and monitoring activities, as well as other related duties as required.
Key components of the role may include, but are not limited to:
- Deliver instruction in the Youth Exploratory Trades Sampler (YETS) program, exposing youth learners to a variety of foundational trades including basic construction, welding, and related trades
- Instruct Automotive Trades courses at various levels, ensuring students develop practical, trade-relevant competencies
- Mentor youth participants, fostering confidence, engagement, and a positive learning experience in a trades environment
- Oversee and enforce shop safety protocols and procedures in accordance with applicable regulations and CMTN policies
- Prepare and deliver lesson plans, course materials, and assessments aligned to program learning outcomes
- Evaluate and provide feedback on student progress, maintaining accurate records of attendance and performance
- Complete related administrative, record keeping, and monitoring activities as required
