Celebrate International Women's Day with us! We will be hosting three powerhouse women who are blazing trails and moving mountains, including Helen Knott, Jaimie Davis, and Nikki Villeneuve.

Celebrate International Women's Day with us! We will be hosting three powerhouse women who are blazing trails and moving mountains, including Indigenous advocate, author, and keynote speaker Helen Knott. Helen will be releasing her newest book, Becoming a Matriarch and speaking about stepping forward in a good way. 

Come eat lunch, listen to stories, and rematriate space.

Additional panel speakers include Jaimie Davis of Jada Creations and Nikki Villeneuve of Raven Prints.

This event will be held in-person at the Terrace campus, and online to Smithers, Hazelton, and Prince Rupert.

More about Helen Knott:

Helen is a Dane Zaa, Cree, Metis, and mixed Euro-descent woman from Prophet River First Nations living in Fort St. John, B.C. She is the author of the nationally best-selling book, In My Own Moccasins. Her second book, Becoming a Matriarch, reached #1 selling status on the Toronto Star list of bestsellers. Helen holds a bachelors degree in social work and has worked in advocacy and wellness within Indigenous communities for almost a decade. Helen has other pieces published ranging from poetry to academic articles that focus on the connection between violence against Indigenous lands and violence against Indigenous bodies. She is eleven years sober and a single mom to an amazing teenager.
