Criminology Professor (Terrace)

Coast Mountain College (CMTN), Terrace campus, invites applications for a College Professor for the fall 2026/2027 semester as outlined below (subject to minimum enrolment).  Salary will be in accordance with the CUPE Instructor Scale: (range: $5,775.84 - $9,255.50 per section).

Duties: The College Professors are responsible for contributing to the academic success of students. This includes course preparation, teaching and guiding students, providing feedback, correction, encouragement, and direction in the following courses:

Fall Semester (September 2026 – December 2026)

• CRIM 135: Introduction to Canadian Law – 1 section

A minimum of both a master’s degree and a bachelor’s degree in the subject field or a related discipline along with teaching experience at the post-secondary level. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate experience with experiential teaching formats.

Required attributes/experience includes:

• Demonstrated commitment to evidence-based teaching with the ability to inspire and motivate learners
• Knowledge and enthusiasm for contemporary practices to promote and respect equity, diversity, and inclusion in teaching, learning and professional contexts
• Demonstrated excellence with intercultural competence, particularly in regards to local Indigenous communities
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and facilitation skills
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
