Coast Mountain College (CMTN), Terrace campus, invites applications for a full-time term Regional Contracts Officer position commencing June 22, 2026 and ending March 31, 2027. Salary will be in accordance with the BCGEU Support Staff, Level 13: $2,747.50 biweekly plus a comprehensive benefits plan.

Duties: This position is responsible for developing relationships with clients and funders with the goal of securing educational contracts that contribute to the growth of CMTN by supporting strategic goals, meeting mandates and generating revenue. This position is primarily responsible for the program/project management of any course or program as described on an educational contract.

Key components of the role may include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate all aspects of work related to contract course and program delivery, collaborating with internal departments to ensure educational standards are maintained and contract deliverables are met
  • Compile, develop, and administer contract program budgets; authorize payments including supplies, expenses, salaries, and fees; closely monitor and reconcile budgets on a monthly basis
  • Research labour market data, identify training opportunities, and determine the feasibility of new programs by assessing curriculum development, implementation costs, and revenue generation
  • Develop and prepare program proposals and budgets; respond to Requests for Proposals to seek funding for programs
  • Liaise with Ministry, partners, and other College department staff ensuring accuracy of program reporting, financial invoicing, and reconciliation
  • Evaluate the delivery and results of programs and make recommendations for changes and improvements for future proposal submissions
  • Oversee portfolio of programs and coordinate between campuses and departments to achieve cost efficiencies and ensure programs align with strategic plan goals and objectives

Qualifications

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience in a post-secondary institution
  • Minimum of two (2) to three (3) years of experience working in contract training and project management
  • Minimum of two (2) to three (3) years of experience in one or more of the following sectors: Natural Resources, Workforce Training or Continuing Education, or Trades/Heavy Industry
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence
  • Experience in the operation of a post-secondary institution 
  • Experience in budget development, monitoring, and implementation
  • Excellent oral and written communication, analytical, and technical skills
  • Creative problem-solving skills with the ability to determine priorities, work independently, and with minimal supervision
  • Strong leadership and team-oriented skills with the ability to build networks and relationships with business, industry, professional associations, communities, and college departments
  • Attention to detail and experience working in an entrepreneurial environment
