“I think taking the Professional Cook Program is a great way to build a solid base before entering the culinary arts industry.  I really enjoy helping students work through the program and transition into an exciting and rewarding career.”

Rob is a Red Seal Chef who studied at Coast Mountain College and Dubrulle French Culinary Institute. He has also obtained his PIDP from Vancouver Community College.  Teaching both the Professional Cook and Cook’s Helper programs have led him to teach in multiple communities that include: Terrace, Smithers, Prince Rupert, Hazelton, Moricetown, Gitsegukla, Laxgalts’ap and Gingolx.

“I always tell students to work hard and try their best even when they are new at something. I think that hard work and practice are the best ways to develop new skills.”

His favourite pastimes are camping at Furlong Bay in Terrace with his wife and two kids and traveling to Boston. “I love its history and I also love watching the Blue Jays beat up on the Red Sox at Fenway Park.”

An interesting Rob fact is that he has a career .666 batting average from playing baseball at BC Provincials and BC Summer Games.
