Coast Mountain College (CMTN), Prince Rupert campus, invites applications for a part-time term Instructor in our Applied Coastal Ecology (ACE) program for the 2024 spring semester. This appointment will commence April 8, 2024 and end June 21, 2024 (subject to minimum student enrolment). Salary will be in accordance with the BCGEU Instructor salary scale, ranging between $37.55-$66.37 hourly.

Duties: The instructor will be responsible for contributing to the academic success of students in the ACE program. This includes course preparation, teaching, evaluation of student work and guiding students by providing feedback, correction, encouragement, and direction in the following courses:
ACE 141: Estimating/Monitoring Aquatic Populations – April 15 to April 19
ACE 197: Environmental Monitoring – April 22 to April 26
ACE 142: Coastal Forest Measurements – June 3 to June 7
ACE 154: Surveying – June 10 to June 14
All courses are schedule from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
ACE courses have a high component of experiential education with regular travel to field sites to apply concepts. Course content includes stream habitat, forest ecology, forest measurements, surveying, marine population estimates, environmental monitoring, wildlife, and fish ID.
